If you’re confident Penn is the best fit for you, consider applying through Early Decision. Our Early Decision program is binding, meaning that if you are admitted, you are required to accept our offer of admission and enroll at Penn.
If you are still unsure if Penn is the right choice for you, or if you want the ability to compare financial aid packages across all schools to which you are admitted, you should consider applying through the Regular Decision application program.

Our financial aid offer meets 100% of our students demonstrated need through grants, scholarships, and on-campus employment opportunities. We don’t include student loans in our aid offer, which means students can graduate debt-free.

The SAT or ACT is not required for the 2024-2025 school year; however, students are still welcome to report their scores as part of their application process. Students who do not report their scores will not be at a disadvantage.
For students who choose to submit their scores, there is no minimum score required to apply to Penn. We understand that standardized testing only provides a fraction of insight into your academic performance, and through our comprehensive review process, we consider multiple factors to determine your admission decision.

Start Your Application
Tuition for master’s students depends on the number of courses they are taking. Doctoral students receive full funding for their program (including tuition and associated fees, single health insurance, single dental insurance and an annual living wage) as long as they remain in good academic standing.

Penn Engineering does not provide financial assistance for master’s-level students; however, you may be able to find a teaching assistantship or part-time lab position through your academic department. You can also explore student employment opportunities, federal funding (if you’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident) or through scholarship opportunities.

Homeschool applicants submit the same application as those who attend traditional schools. Because of this unique academic experience, the Admissions Committee will want to learn about your motivations for choosing a homeschool experience.
QuestBridge connects the nation’s brightest students from low-income backgrounds with leading institutions of higher education, including Penn. Through QuestBridge, you can be matched with a participating school to receive full four-year scholarships to cover your cost of attendance.
Penn is dedicated to creating a safe environment for all students, including undocumented individuals, regardless of their citizenship or residency status.
Penn is a NCAA Division I institution and proudly welcomes all student-athletes. Approximately 10 percent of our students compete in varsity sports, and we offer comprehensive support for our scholar-athletes as they embrace the challenge of competing while pursuing rigorous academics.
The University of Pennsylvania encourages applications from international students and values the diverse perspectives they bring to the community. The undergraduate population at Penn includes students from over 100 countries, with approximately 1 in 5 students having home addresses outside of the U.S.
Transfer applicants to the University of Pennsylvania can apply directly to one of four undergraduate schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, the School of Nursing, or the Wharton School. While transfer students have a variety of programs to choose from, coordinated dual-degree or specialized programs are generally not eligible for transfer, except for Digital Media Design.
