Positions Available in programming languages
Applications from people with `types' interest (i.e. logical
foundations of programming languages, type theory, novel type systems,
type-based program analysis etc) would fit very well for the following
positions, and I thought some members of TYPES-list might be
interested.

The following two positions in the area of programming languages
are available.
* Associate Professor
We seek to appoint an associate professor who is expected to lead a
research project and to supervise PhD research. This post is offered
for a period of up to 10 years. A successful candidate must have a
PhD in computer science (or closely related fields), and have a
strong research record.
* Research Associate
This post is offered for a period of up to 5 years. A successful
candidate must have a PhD in computer science or closely related
fields, and demonstrate strong research potential.
We seek candidates with research interests in all areas of programming
languages.

JAIST is a graduate institute, founded in 1990, dedicated to research
and graduate education in Knowledge Science, Information Science, and
Materials Science. It is located in the suburbs of Kanazawa, a
beautiful old city. School of Information Science at JAIST is one of
largest and most active research centers in computer science in Japan,
consisting of about 50 research staffs, 300 master students and 70 PhD
students.
