[As one of the editors for this new journal, I'd like to explicitly
encourage submissions from members of the Types community: work on
types is already well established in some areas of internet technology
(mobile agents, XML, proof-carrying code, etc.) and there are *many*
opportunities to go further. --BCP]
CALL FOR PAPERS
ACM Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT)
ACM is launching a new journal Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT).
The first issue of TOIT will be published on June 2001.
Despite the furious hype and attention on the Internet/Web technology,
the technology is still young and moving rapidly. As such, it is not
reasonable to expect very many traditional, mature and definitive papers
to be submitted to TOIT, at least during the first year or two.
TOIT will, at least for the initial year or two, publish, as well as
the traditional mature and definitive archival journal papers,
papers that are of the scope and completeness as those found in
the Communications of the ACM or IEEE Computer. As TOIT becomes established
and as the technology matures, TOIT is expected to be able to publish
mostly mature and definitive research papers.
