CHAIR for COMPUTER SCIENCE. FACULTY of COMPUTER SCIENCE,
TECHNISCHE UNIVERSITAET MUENCHEN
The Technische Universitaet Muenchen invites applications for a Chair (C4)
in the Faculty of Computer Science. This chair is representing theoretical
computer science in research and education, together with other chairs. Its
focus shall be on languages and description methods, in particular on
programming and document description languages.
Special emphasis shall be put on developing and investigating some of the
following topics:
+ new concepts for specification or programming,
+ development of specification or programming languages,
+ user interfaces,
+ compiler construction,
+ programming language semantics,
+ programm correctnes checking and verification,
+ logic calculi.
Teaching duties include participation in the regular undergraduate and
graduate computer science curriculum.
Besides a proven track record of outstanding and original research work,
candidates must have an earned doctorate with habilitation or equivalent
scientific expertise (which might have been acquired outside of Germany or
outside of academia), and they must demonstrate strong pedagogic skills.
At the time of appointment, candidates must not be older than 52 years of age.
