Welcome to the official website of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, Pennsylvania Delta Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania, established April 11, 1921.
Our Story
Tau Beta Pi is the premier national engineering honor society in the country (est. 1885), and one of the most nationally recognized societies. Tau Beta Pi is committed to scholarship, personal character, and service to the profession, community and university. Every semester, we invite the top fifth of BSE seniors and the top eighth of BSE juniors in Penn Engineering.
Our Footprints
The past three semesters have witnessed a surge in chapter activity. For the present, the Pennsylvania Delta chapter focuses on three goals: (1) enhancement of engineering education, (2) service to local community, and (3) social and alumni networking. We have assisted in local soup kitchens coordinated by the University City Hospitality Coalition (3720 Chestnut St.) and St. Francis Inn (2441 Kensington Ave). We have hosted bagel breakfasts with our faculty advisors, like Dr. Mintz (CSE) and Dr. Pope (MSE). We have organized the ever-popular Quizzo during E-Week for the past two years. We have hosted last minute midterm preparation workshops for undergraduates taking PHYS 150 and PHYS 151. And you know what? We want to do more!!
Our Pitch
Tau Beta Pi offers both the leadership opportunity and creative freedom to project your vision of "integrity and excellence in engineering" onto the campus role of our chapter. Both in its superior academic standards and its thorough evaluation of good character, our organization seeks out the very student leaders capable of leading our chapter now and in the future.
Remember, the "Tau Beta Pi Experience" at Penn can be as grand as you imagine it to be.
