Computational modeling of platelet calcium signaling
Research Summary
I am working on modeling how platelets respond to external stimuli. Using Monte Carlo sampling techniques we are able to characterize how different resting configurations affect the platelet's subsequent response to an activating signal. In particular we have developed a working model for the process of store-operated calcium entry which functions with parameters and displays dynamic behavior that is consistent with observations reported in scientific literature.
