Research Projects
Detection of platelet sensitivity to antiplatelet therapies using a whole blood microfluidic assay.
Recapitulation of trauma and the fibrinolytic state under flow.
Microfluidic assay of hemophilic blood: Studying contact pathway deficiencies.
Multiscale prediction of patient-specific platelet function under flow over tissue factor and collagen biomimetic surfaces
Research
I study the role of platelets in hemostasis and thrombosis in various microfluidic thrombosis models. Specifically, I examine the effects of various anti-platelet and anti-thrombotic therapies on platelet function under flow. I characterize platelet ligand-receptor dynamics, clot morphology, and the effects of antagonists on secondary platelet aggregation using in vitro microfludic devices capable of recreating platelet biochemical signaling pathways and transport processes in vivo.
